About SJMF

The era started in 1949 is known as the Golden Era of Hindi Film Music. It was because in 1949, a music duo Shankar-Jaikishan entered the film industry like a lightning and became the trend-setter in the film music. Their music was full of innovations and experimentations. They created music based on mood of masses. In other words, they moulded music and musical mood of people. Therefore, even today, they are considered as the great music directors of India. Their melodies are remembered today as the best compositions by the music lovers both in India and abroad. Today after more than 25 years of their departure, SJ fans, all around the world remember their songs and music regularly and organise programs of their popular melodies. In 2012 a dedicated group of SJ fans in Ahmedabad established Shankar-Jaikishan Music Foundation to preserve, popularise, attract and convince the new generation enjoy and understand their music.
